Admission to the Institute of Salesian Spirituality

Application to the ISS involves registration in the GTU through the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology. You can request an application form.

Admission to GTU and DSPT

ISS students also enroll in the GTU by admission to DSPT. That is done by completing the ISS registration packet. For enrollment in the GTU as well as for the Institute’s records, transcripts (record of academic work completed) of university level and/or theological courses are required. Religious who apply to the ISS must include a letter of recommendation from their provincial or religious superior.

It is recommended that applications be submitted during the Spring, i.e., between April and June. Applications are reviewed by the Admissions Committee when all materials are received. Notification of the committee's decision will be sent to each applicant the month after reception of the completed application file.

Medical Insurance

Proof of medical insurance is necessary for registration in any program or school at GTU. The Student Health Insurance Plan through the GTU and the University of California [called S.H.I.P.] is billed once each semester; SHIP covers doctors’ bills and treatment in certain designated local clinics. The PacifiCare plan through the Salesians of St. John Bosco is billed monthly. This plan is more costly, but it covers doctors’ visits and medical treatment throughout the USA.
