General InformationThe Institute of Salesian Spirituality (ISS) is a year-long spiritual experience (August to June) including community life, Salesian studies and theological updating. The program includes 8 courses totaling 24 units, and leads to a Certificate of Theological Studies. Living in community is an inseparable part of the shared ISS experience. We follow the academic calendar of the GTU. The Fall Semester begins in late August and ends before Christmas. The month of January is devoted to short courses with ministry experiences and pastoral reflection. The Spring Semester begins in February and ends in May. We collaborate with other Salesian study centers throughout the world, especially with the Università Pontificia Salesiana (UPS) in Rome, CRESCO in Guatemala, and the Centro de Formación Permanente in Quito. AffiliationThe ISS is affiliated with the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology. DSPT is itself a member of the Graduate Theological Union (GTU) – a multi-denominational consortium of nine interdependent theological schools and affiliated centers, offering cross registration and joint advanced degree programs with the University of California at Berkeley. |
