Paginate them so that when folded, the sheets form a booklet. The two simplest cases, 4-page and 8-page, are handled by corresponding special templates. How this template was made Let the number of booklet pages be n. All calculations are integer. For division, take the quotient only, and discard the remainder. Make a blank document with (n + 1)/2 pages, landscape orientation. You can force pages by inserting page breaks. Put two text boxes on each page. Make a linked list in groups of four. Start with 2 ( 3 ( 4 ( 1 Make a new chain of 4 by adding 4 to all those: 6 ( 7 ( 8 ( 5 Insert this new chain in the middle of the old one: 2 ( 3 ( 6 ( 7 ( 8 ( 5 ( 4 ( 1 Repeat this process until all pages are filled: 2 ( 3 ( 6 ( 7 ( 10 ( 11 ( 12 ( 9 ( 8 ( 5 ( 4 ( 1 This may leave as many as 3 boxes that will get no text, as when there are 9, 13, 17, etc. pages. Link those last boxes anyway, so that text added later will flow properly into them. How to use this template First, you'll need to add enough pages to hold all the boxes. Go to the middle of the document, add a page break, then paste in two boxes. Repeat adding pages and boxes until you have enough. Repair the links. Go to box 3, and link to box 6. Then add links according to the rest of your linked list. Don't forget to restore the link to box 4: you broke it when you linked box 3 to 6. Now add your text right here, into box 2. It will flow out from here into the others, making a correctly paginated foldover booklet. Cautions It is much easier to edit your text outside these boxes. For example, switching to outline view will show nothing (try it). So, get the text all nicely composed and formatted before pouring it into this text box. Dummy Text This shows how text flows from one text box to the other. The numbering of these paragraphs reveals their order, but only if you make enough copies of it to make text overflow onto box 1. To copy it rapidly, triple-click to select, copy, then paste repeatedly until the "End of booklet" message flows onto box 1. Now look at your text boxes to see how they flow, and see if your linking scheme is correct. To test it, try printing this template back-to-back. When folded, it will be in the proper multi-page foldover booklet layout. This shows how text flows from one text box to the other.
