The SLIM Program
The two year SLIM Program is an exciting initiative of the San Francisco province of the Salesians of Don Bosco. The program aims at deepening and qualifying in educational praxis women and men, both lay and religious, involved in Salesian ministry. SLIM has as a pre-requisite the completion of the Salesian educational seminars already sponsored by the province—SES for those involved in school ministry and SMS for those involved in parish and youth center ministry.
The two year Program, July 2007 through Spring 2009, seeks to deepen our understanding of and our response to the Salesian vocation, to serve the young people entrusted to our care. It calls participants to reflect on the charism and identity of the Salesian spirit which pervades all we do with and for the young. The Program further challenges participants to be leaders in the Salesian educational project by reflecting on Salesian educational principles and accompaniment of young people enabling them to take their place in society as honest citizens and good Christians in the complex world of this 21st century.
